Our Programs

Master of Chaplaincy 

Prepares professional chaplains for hospitals, prisons, military, and institutions through theological depth, ethical formation, and specialized spiritual care tailored to diverse African environments.

Master of Theology

Bachelor of Theology

Certificate in Christian Ministry

Programs

The School of Theology & Religion at Justo Mwale University offers a range of programs designed to equip students for effective ministry and leadership in the Church and society. The Bachelor of Theology (4 years) provides comprehensive training in biblical studies, theology, pastoral care, and research; the Diploma in Theology (3 years) delivers intermediate-level theological education with a strong focus on African contextual theology; the Certificate in Theology (1 year) offers foundational knowledge in scripture, doctrine, and ministry for lay leaders and church workers; while the Certificate in Christian Ministry (1 year) emphasizes practical skills in preaching, discipleship, and community engagement. Together, these programs integrate academic excellence, spiritual formation, and practical ministry experience to prepare graduates for pastoral service, church leadership, and broader faith-based community roles.

Admissions 

Admission to the School of Theology & Religion at Justo Mwale University is open to candidates from the general public, with intakes scheduled throughout the year. Full-time programs commence in January, while distance learning programs offer flexible entry points in April, August, and December. Applicants are required to submit completed application forms, certified academic documents, identification, and church or institutional recommendations, along with the application fee. Entry requirements vary by program, ranging from Grade 12 for the Bachelor and Diploma in Theology to Grade 12 or higher for Certificate programs. Successful applicants receive admission letters with details on registration and orientation, ensuring a smooth transition into their studies.

Fees

  • Payment Deadlines: Students must provide evidence of sponsorship or settle tuition fees at the beginning of each semester before accessing university facilities.
  • Other Charges: Registration, examination, residential, and administrative fees apply in addition to tuition.
  • Upkeep Costs: Students should budget for living expenses (food, transport, personal needs). Sponsored students may receive monthly allowances directly to their accounts.
  • Invoices & Statements: The Finance Department issues invoices and statements in line with the academic calendar to guide payment schedules.
