School of Education

The School of Education at Justo Mwale University is committed to advancing excellence in teacher education, educational leadership, and applied pedagogy. Rooted in the University’s mission of integrating academic rigor with contextual relevance, the School prepares educators and leaders who are equipped to contribute meaningfully to national development, church ministry, and community transformation.
All programmes are designed to meet the standards of the Zambia Qualifications Framework (ZQF) and are offered in Full-Time, Distance Learning, and soon-to-be-launched Online Learning modes, ensuring accessibility and flexibility for diverse learners.

Modes of Study

  • Full-Time: Traditional campus-based learning with direct engagement in lectures, tutorials, and practicums.
  • Distance Learning: A flexible study mode designed for working professionals and students outside Lusaka.
  • Online Learning (Coming Soon): Digital delivery of courses to expand access nationally and internationally, leveraging modern e-learning platforms.

Admissions 

Admissions Requirements—Bachelor of Education Programs
Applicants seeking admission into the Bachelor of Education programs must meet one of the following entry pathways:

1. Standard Entry

  • Successful completion of Senior Secondary School Certificate (Grade 12) or equivalent.
  • A minimum of five (5) credits, including English Language.
  • Additional credits in subjects relevant to education are strongly recommended.

2. Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)

  • Applicants with substantial professional or vocational experience in education or related fields may be considered under RPL.
  • Evidence of prior learning, training, or professional achievements must be formally documented and assessed.
  • Applicants must demonstrate competence equivalent to the standard entry requirements.

3. Mature Entry

  • Applicants aged 25 years or older who may not meet the standard academic requirements.
  • Must provide evidence of relevant work experience in education or community development.
  • Required to pass a mature entry examination and/or interview to demonstrate academic readiness.
  • Proficiency in the English language is mandatory.
